jan 1, 1804 - Napoleon Becomes Emperor of France
Description:
Napoleon Bonaparte was a military leader and began to grow in power during the french revolution. In 1804 he takes over France and claims he is the new emperor. After France was defeated in 1812 during a war with Russia, Napoleon stepped down from the throne and later in 1814, was exiled to a remote island, but in 1815 he returned and became the emperor again for a period called 100 days. After this he lost another battle, and was then exiled again to another island and died there. Napoleon gained many followers during the 100 days which proves that many people were still loyal to him and against exiling him which could've been a cause of his escape from his first exile.
