may 18, 1896 - #9 Plessy v. Ferguson
Description:
Plessy v. Ferguson was Supreme Court case, in which the Supreme Court decided that public facilities can be separate but must be equal. This became known as the "separate but equal" doctrine. This meant that blacks and whites could still be forced to use different restrooms, but the restrooms must be equally clean and equal in quality.
