sep 5, 1793 - Robespierre's Reign of Terror
Description:
Maximilien de Robespierre, a French lawyer and revolutionary became a highly influential leader of the French Revolution after the execution of Louis XVI. Robespierre's campaign to round up all those that thought similar sentiment to the Old Regime became very restrictive, as it incorporated every man and woman in society. People were tried for their opposing sentiment and executed. Taking advantage of the hysteria and fear of the French people, Robespierre was able to inspire commoners to work alongside him to complete his goals.
