jan 21, 1793 - Louis XVI is executed at the guillotine

Description:

Louis XVI was found to be guilty of about 40 tyranny-related charges against him, including limiting the freedoms of French citizens and obstructing fair justice for French citizens. With Louis XVI executed, France was thrown into a strange bliss. Their long oppressive ruler was now dead but what else was there to accomplish? Because of the instability that arose as a result of his death, Robespierre was able to seize power and place himself as a leader of France during the Revolution.
