jan 27, 1973 - Paris Peace accords
Description:
The Paris Peace Accords marked the end of the US involvement in Vietnam. The US was given 30 days to pull all their troops out of the country, and there was a ceasefire during that time period. POWs were to be returned to the US as well, but it is still rumored that that the North didn't give all the POWs back.
After we left, the only troops we had was at the US embassy in Saigon, and the war was handed back to the South and we left the country entirely.
