Large outbreak of phtophthora caused a mass crop failure in ireland in the 1840s which killed a million people.Causes:
stagnant water produces this mold which can rot the roots of a plant.
Treatment:
No treatment, but can be reduced by disturbing stagnant water and better irrigation.
