jan 2, 1684 - HBC establishes York Factory.
Description:
The Hudsons Bay Company opened/established in 1684 between the Hayes and Nelson Rivers, giving the traders two inland river routes to chose from. Near York Factory is Five Fathom Hole, an area of deep water where ocean-going ships can anchor for the exchange of goods. The York Factory was the third fort built by the Hudsons Bay Company. It was one of the Hudsons Bay Companies biggest source of revenue between many other forts.
