Description:

Ford put in motion his $5 day. Doubling the existing pay and lowering work hours from 9 hours to 8 hours a day. 10,000 lined up outside of Ford hoping to be hired. Since Ford did this, workers had more leisure time, were able to buy the cars they made and Ford was able to run 3 shifts a day instead of 2. This added to the amount of cars produced.
