Description:

The first Smash Ultimate Direct was released on this day, and it released the inclusion of Simon and Richter, coming from the Castlevania series from Konami. The direct explained many things including the number of tracks, number of stages, and more. They showcased some new assist trophies, items, pokèmon, and revealed that Chrom from the Fire Emblem series and Dark Samus from the Metroid series would join the fight as echo fighters (clone characters). They introduced some new rules including chargeable final smash and stamina battle. Right before the direct ended, we got a glimpse of a brand new fighter, King K. Rool from the Donkey Kong series. Gameplay was shown of King K. Rool, and they added the new characters to the banner.
