jun 5, 1921 - Patient Zero of HIV?

Description:

No one is quite certain when it happened but it's believed that from perhaps bush meat from chimpanzees, the disease known as HIV made it's way into humans. HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus, is a lentivirus that affects the immune system, damaging it and causing acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS, in it's most severe form (AIDS is not a disease itself but a symptom of HIV). Other viruses will then take advantage and cause damage to the body, diseases and pathogens that normally wouldn't be able to harm the body like candida esophagitis, toxoplasmosis, and can even make latent tuberculosis worse by activating it, and can work alongside syphilis. It is transmitted by blood and by semen and other bodily fluids, allowing for not only those engage in dangerous things like unsafe sex and sharing needles to catch it but also those who might need transfusions, babies who are born to HIV-positive women, and those who work in occupations that require exposure to those things.
