may 14, 1896 - ID 9, Plessy v. Ferguson

Description:

This court case was about a black man who sat on a "white train". He was brought to court and argued that the "black trains" were inferior to "white trains" and there needed to be a change. He didn't really get his wise, but the court did decide that just because separation in social services did not mean that black services weren't as good as white services. This ruling basically justified the segregation of race up until the Civil Rights Movement.
