jan 1, 1940 - Streptomyces

Description:

Streptomyces is a bacteria that comes from hundreds of species that come from soil and water. It was later found to be in plants, fungi, and animals. It is transmitted by horizontal gene transfer. People who work with soil on a regular basis would be most at risk than anyone else. It can be known to cause abscesses on the brain and lungs and also cause pneumonia. It can be parasitic which causes the scab-causing Streptomyces. There were trials of multiple antibiotics that I know have been used to treat many infections, mostly skin infections. Insects, marine animals, and plants grow their own antibiotics to protect themselves. Wear gloves with open wounds while working around soil.
