Description:

Birmingham was considered one of the most dangerous places in the segregated south. It was a time of a lot of protests such as the Children Protest, Letters from Birmingham Jail, and Martin Luther King Jr. These protests became national news when Conner let police dogs loose on the protesters. Martin Luther King Jr was one of the main people involved along with Eugene "The Bull" Conner and George Wallace. These protests occurred in Birmingham, Alabama. One main case was the dissent toward the laws against black people and one major effect was the desegregation of businesses and repeal of Jim Crow law.
