The Hundred Flowers campaign was a program started by the Chinese Communist Party in 1956. With Mao Zedong as the head of the program, the Hundred Flowers campaign was initiated to promote to individuality and unique culture brought from each chinese citizen to their country. The campaign gained traction in Chinese society with only moderate backlash, and Zedong was able to bring his ideals into the public eye at a rapid rate.
