During the first year of the Chinese Republic, 1912, a political party emerged known as the Nationalists. While this party acted in the first Chinese parliament in 1913, it was quickly dissolved due to a coup, inspiring leader Sun Yat-sen to reform the parliament with a stricter regime, modelled after that of the bolshevik party.
