Description:
1205 CE - 1279 CE The conquest of China began when Chinggis Khan started to attack the Western Xia, up until he conquered it. Then he focussed attack on the Jin Dynasty, which he also captured. Chinggis then died of uncertain causes, but the Mongols continued under the leadership of Mongke Khan. He continued Mongol conquest of China into the southern Song areas where he fell ill and died. His successor, Kublai Khan, finished off the Song, thus capturing all of China for the first time in history. This started the Mongol-led Yuan Dynasty of China. (3.2)
