jan 31, 1660 - Radisson and des Groseilliers Return with Furs

Description:

Radisson and des Groseilliers arrive back with over a hundred canoes filled of furs. The moment they got back to land to sell all of those furs the furs got confiscated. This was because Radisson and des Groseilliers did not have a obligated license to sell those furs so des Groseilliers got briefly and shortly put in jail. In 1662 when des Groseilliers got out of jail him and Radisson were very unhappy with the administration in New France. They decided to set sail for New England in search of investors for their trading expeditions. In New England, Radisson and des Groseilliers propose exporting pelts via Hudson Bay as the route is shorter which will allow them to avoid paying taxes. Over the next three years, there was an interest from an investor. That means that they were forced to go back home and they lost all their investors from New England.
