Description:

Henry VIII (son of Henry VII): arranges marriage between first born and the daughter of Isabella and ferdinand of Spain. Seeks divorce. In 1534 Parliament passed act of supremacy: recognizes second marriage to Anne and their child as rightful heirs. Pope Clement VII excommunicates Henry but he is head of church in England. The place of the Roman Catholic Church in England is contested for generations as a result.
