aug 28, 1963 - March on Washington

Description:

It was a peaceful protest in Washington DC with over 200k whites and blacks where Martin Luther King gave his Famous "I Have a Dream" speech. A cause was because there was still a lot of discrimination for blacks and they wanted to do it in order to get congress to pass Kennedy's bill. A result of this was that civil rights became a national issue because so many people showed up. Because whites and blacks showed up, it showed that times were slowly changing.
