The battle of Tippecanoe takes place, which is considered as the first battle of the war of 1812, and a part of the conflict known as Tecumseh's War. It was fought between the U.S. army and the First Nations lead by Tecumseh's brother Tenskwatawa. The battle ultimately ended in an American victory which paved the way for the end of Tecumseh's war.
