Description:
Duke William III gave some land and his favorite hunting shack to a monk named Berno. This became Cluny Abbey and became the center of a vast monastic reform for hundreds of years. The focused on prayer and the Divine Office instead of work, but became a center of vitality amidst a corrupt church.
