Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne emperor and revived the Holy Roman Empire. Charlemagne forcibly converted all of Europe to Christianity with forced baptisms, appointed bishops, and regulated tithes. Under Charlemagne, “Christendom” was thoroughly established in Europe.
