Description:
Cyprian was part of the upper class in North Africa but converted and became a bishop. He became an influential voice in North African Christianity. He famously claimed that “outside the church there is no salvation,” and dealt with the problem of lapsed church members during persecution. He was martyred in during Valerian’s reign.
