Description:

The Abbasid dynasty was the next Islamic Dynasty and came around after the Umayyads administration was slaughtered by the Abbasids. The Abbasid's focus was less on expansion, but much more on conversion. They wanted as many people as possible to join and were successful because of the Sufis and Jizya, which helped spread the faith. During the Abbasid dynasty, there was again improvements with agriculture, with the increase in cotton production, and more urban growth. The urban growth was the result of huge increases in trade, another big trend of the time. (3.1, 3.2)
