Description:

The Umayyad Dynasty was the first Islamic dynasty, and was very important in history, primarily because of the spread of new ideas. These ideas included agriculture, with irrigation and plows, and architecture with mosques. They were primarily focused on conquering, but still incorporated the Jizya into their society, which was a non-muslim tax. The large dynasty was put to an and when the Abbasids killed off all of the leaders in kind of a "party killing." (3.1, 3.2)
