Back in 1973 under Texas criminal law women were not allowed to have abortions at least if it was "For the purpose of saving the life of the mother." A pregnant woman Norma Leah McCorvey. Who was 22 years-old, unmarried, and from the working class, wanted to finish her pregnancy. The attorneys Linda Coffee and Sarah Weddington were looking for a case to challenge the Texas Court to modify the law. Norma L. McCorvey was their client. During the court case, she didn't want to revele her identity so she used the name Jane Roe who was against the Dallas County attorney Henry Wade. The lawsuit demanded the right of her privacy making the abortion law unconstitutional under the 9th and the 14th amendments.
