Description:

This day began the pressure on the Milwaukee Common Council to pass the fair housing legislation. This march was organized by the Milwaukee Youth Council of the NAACP with the help of a white Roman Catholic priest, Father James E. Groppi. Members gathered at offices and homes of aldermen against the piece of legislation. Similar gatherings continued to occur for the following four weeks.
