nov 9, 2016 - Beit Mery
Description:
One of the more successful stories not highlighted by the media is the Beit Mery sorting plant. At this plant waste is sorting from the fifty percent organic material. The organic material is then sent to a composting site for re-use agriculturally. The solid waste is compressed under high temperatures for use as "Eco-Boards" an inexpensive building material completely made out of recycled materials. This is Lebanon's first zero waste facility. By this date the Beit Mery facility has processed over 777 tons of waste.
