oct 7, 1763 - The Proclamation of 1763
Description:
On October 7th, 1763, at the end of the French and Indian War, the British issued a proclamation. This law was created in order to avoid the disruption of trade between regions. Some colonists were also ordered “to remove themselves from such settlements.” This proclamation wasn't easily enforced and it increased the colonist unhappiness with the British attempts to control them.
