jan 29, 1993 - Blair’s Third Way
Description:
The “Third Way” is an economic theory that attempts to balance the left and right by implementing a mixture of center-left and center-right economic policy in an attempt to create an extremely centrist government. The third way came off the back of neo-conservatism and was an attempt to re-balance the economy. A notable advocate for the Third Way is former President Bill Clinton. Within the United states, the third way was described as embracing fiscal conservatism while staying economically liberal. While The Third Way is more centrist than anything else it would be marked as a shift to the left as the previous western governments were often Neoconservative making them right wing, and a shift from the right to centre is a shift to the left.
