Description:

1854 - John Snow and the Cholera Outbreak.

The cholera causing organism was discovered in 1854.

1817 - Cholera began spreading outside the Ganges delta and spread to Calcutta on the Bay of Bengal and it quickly spread to the rest of the subcontinent. By 1818. the disease broke out in Bombay, on the west coast.

Cholera bacterium is usually found in water or food sources that have been contaminated by feces (poop) from a person infected with cholera. Cholera is most likely to be found and spread in places with inadequate water treatment, poor sanitation, and poor hygiene.

There is no sign of fever, but there are visuals like rice water stools, viscous blood, violent vomiting, abdominal cramps, nausea, deyhydration and more.

1832 - cholera patients in London prison had been diagnosed and died.

There was an epidemic in New York in 1832 where there was a start of massive immigration who were mostly Irish. 250,000 people were living in the city and which no one believed Cholera was to be contagious. There were intense droughts, and when there were more water in cesspools, it was more prone for overflow which you can see people can get contaminated by the dirty water of other peoples feces and urine.

The original proposal for water works was from Dr. Joseph Browne & William Weston in 1797 where they proposed clean, uncontaminated water from Bronx river. $200,000 was paid for with new tax and there were slow sand filtration for clean water.
