Description:

Who: Cecil Calvert persuaded the assembly to adopt the Act of Toleration.
What: First colonial statue granting religious freedom to all Christians, but called for death to anyone who denied the divinity of Jesus. Repealed in late 1600s after the Protestant Revolt (brief civil war) against the Christians.
