Description:
Due to the Winnipeg Jets being up north and not south where the Atlanta thrashers used to be. Due to the conquincidence the NHL decided to redo the divisions and lower them from 6 to 4 divisions. This change wasn’t just due to the Jets moving from Atlanta to Winnipeg, there was also time zone differences
Due to the divisions being changed, they changed the Playoff matchups. Instead of doing 1st v 8th, 2nd v 7th etc. It would be the top team in the conference plays the 2nd wild card, and the leader of the other division would play the 1st wild card, then the two teams left in each division would play against each other.
