The date is the day it was founded- In an effort to avoid further conflict after the events of WWI, the League of Nations was founded. If ever faced with invasion, members of this league would gain assistance from other members. However, in the case Germany, when they decided to remilitarize the Rhineland which went against the TREATY OF VERSAILLES, the league did not take action. This idea of the league taking no action is widely known as APPEASEMENT as Germany was not stopped.
