jun 15, 1917 - Espionage act is passed
Description:
The purpose of the Espionage and Sedition Acts were to stop interference with military operation and to ban support for the enemies of the US. Whether this violates the freedom of speech has been debated in the US Supreme Court for a long time. In Schenck v. United States, the US Supreme court ruled that the act did not violate freedom of speech.
