Description:
Raleigh was an English writer, poet, soldier, politician, courtier, spy and explorer. He went on several expedition to different countries, including South America and Guiana. Between 1584 and 1589, he helped establish a colony near Roanoke Island, which he named Virginia. Later, accused of treason by King James I, Sir Walter Raleigh was imprisoned and eventually put to death.
