feb 27, 2013 - The First Time I Encountered the Term "Agender"

Description:

Though it was mainly a safe place for me to post memes that my parents probably would not like, I learned about different gender identities because of my time on Tumblr. When I was in 10th grade, I came across one of those posts that is a dictionary of LBGTQ+ terms. One of the very first and one I had never seen before was the word "agender". The definition it had said something like, "someone who does not identify as male or female, generally feels like neither, is nonbinary". It struck a note with me, as I had never really felt like a male or female, especially if thinking about a spectrum of sex, it was not that I fell in the middle between the two, it was that I always felt like I was on a different plane.

It is important to note here that this is not when I formally decided this was the best way to label myself, nor did I tell anyone about my discovery.
