may 9, 2006 - Recess
Description:
As mentioned previously, I went to a small, private, Christian elementary school, only having nine students in my grade. There were five girls, including me, and four boys. We girls would talk at recess about how cute the boys were, but it was not something I ever understood. Until I started hanging out with the boys, who, in turn, talked about how cute the girls were. As my first crush on a girl was in third grade, I felt like I could talk to the guys about that. Except, I did not “feel” like a girl myself. I understood that I liked girls, but I always fit in with the boys better.
Again with Rafferty in mind, young people hang out with people of their same gender. I think it is interesting how I would flop between the two options.
