Christ's lyre-backed throne imitates imperial throne. Emperor could be Constantine VII, Leo VI repenting for 4 marriages and excommunication, Leo VI atoning for sins of father Basil I. Emperor shown in proskynesis, as he would prostrate himself in front of door beneath mosaic.
