Rafferty explains that most children will mainly play with kids of their own gender at age 6 (Rafferty, 2018). Not surprisingly, at age 6, my best and only friend was Marshal, a boy. We would often play with Star Wars action figures. This often confused my parents, though they embraced it, and made sure to fan my obsession with action figures and Pokemon.The photo attached to this is of Marshal and me much later, during our 8th-grade confirmation.
