AFN was the assembly of First Nations and was created as a result of movements to restore chiefs as the voice of First Nations in Canada-wide deliberative assembly. The AFN advocates on behalf of First Nations on issues such as treaties, indigenous rights, and land and resources. AFN is a political organization representing approximately 900 000 First Nation citizens in Canada.
