Farming was all done by labors or human power. People would plant crops or raise animals such as goats, sheep, or pigs for their own needs on the lands they lived on. Basically, everything was done by human power, which required a large amounts of time as well as labors to maintain the work efficiency. Even for England, which is the origin of the Industrial Revolution, had no fundamental changes in farming until the middle of the 17th century
