jan 1, 1533 - Henry VIII's Annulment and the Start of Anglicanism

Description:

Henry was convinced that since Catherine, his wife, had a girl instead of a boy, that she could not have a boy ever. For this reason, Henry wanted a divorce from Catherine or an annulment. The Pope refused to annul Catherine and Henry, so Henry broke away from the church, and started Anglicanism. Henry recruits Thomas Cranmer as his religious leader, and in doing so re-marries Anne Boleyn. Unfortunately, Anne has a daughter, so Henry kills Anne. After Henry's death, the Anglican belief was carried on, until Mary became queen. The acts of Henry helped to shape England into a better country, and Anglicanism is still the official religion of England.
