Thomas Cranmer was the leader of the Anglican Church and when Mary Tudor came into power she tortured him until he wrote a letter talking about everything that was wrong about Anglicanism. When she still decided to kill him he burned his hand off clean without making a sound and said he did it because of the sins he committed with that hand.
