jun 5, 3150 BC - Anubis
Description:
Anubis is the god of mummification, the afterlife, and the patron of lost and helpless souls. He's one of the oldest gods, and is depicted as a jackal around 3150-2890 BC. This is due to canines digging up newly buried bodies, because the Egyptians believe that a canine god will defend the mummies against other canines. Some depictions of him were found from as early as 6000 BC.
