Artificial intelligence (AI) is the idea that a machine is able to become sentient and have a mind of its own. It is used in computer programs, such as an AI can play a game of chess with a person, non player characters (NPC) in video games take control of characters who aren’t controlled manually and act by its own accord or if the NPC was scripted. This is continuing to be developed to this day.
