jun 29, 1520 - Montezuma II dies

Description:

On June 29th, 1520 Moctezuma II was killed. Cortes plan involved capturing Montezuma and holding him until more reinforcements could arrive to invade the city. There was a lot of resistance from the people of Tenochtitlan. Unable to restore order, Cortes had Montezuma plead with his people to stop attacking the Spanish. The people of Tenochtitlan threw stones and spears at Montezuma, two or three days later, Montezuma died of his wounds.
