Description:

The Census tabulating machine was invented by Herman Hollerith in the year 1889, and was used for the 1890 census in America. This device works when a punching card is punched, the tabulating machine holds very small cups of mercury, which made the holes in the cards, creating an electrical contact, recognizing the information in the machine and into the card.
