Description:

According to the U.S. Department of Education, there are approximately 862,000 students being provided special education services in the category of Other Health Impairment. Many children have multiple diagnoses that are comorbid with symptoms of ADHD, and who are being served in more than one special education categorical area. This makes it hard to determine how many children with ADHD are being provided special education services. Some estimates are as high as 5 % of the overall U.S. school population, or 3.7 million students.
