jan 3, 1948 - Arab-Israeli war

Description:

(1948-1949)
The Arab-Israeli conflict is the name given to the strained relations and military conflicts between the State of Israel and the surrounding Arab States, since the creation of Israel on May 14, 1948. Its culmination was seven armed conflicts. : the 1948 war, the Suez war in 1956, the Six Day War in 1967, the war of attrition in 1967, the Yom Kippur war in 1973, the first Lebanon war in 1982, and the second Lebanon war in 2006.

This conflict occupies a major place in the geopolitics of the Middle East, where several problems accompany it: the instability of the region (because of the non-recognition of the State of Israel by the majority of Arab countries), Israel's control of the holy sites of Jerusalem (the sacred city of the three monotheists), the Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Golan, and Israel's control of the Lake Tiberias basin (an important source of drinking water).
